Who Is Albert Einstein?

Albert Einstein was born on March 14, 1879 as the first child of a Jewish couple in Germany. A short time later, Einstein family moved to Munich, where Albert started his education. Albert did not like grammar class, but was very interested in science and mathematics. He had an ambition to achieve the diploma of a subject teacher for mathematics and physics.

When Albert turned 16, he moved to Switzerland for his higher education. At first, he tried to be admitted into the Zurich-based Federal Institute of Technology (FIT), but he failed the entrance examination because his knowledge in other subjects was not in parity with mathematics and physics.

He was, then, advised by the principal to obtain his diploma at the Cantonal School in Aarau, Switzerland, and in 1896 he was automatically admitted into the FIT. Albert successfully completed his study in July 1900.

After graduating in 1900, Einstein moved to Bern and worked at the Patent Office. In his leisure time, he worked in the area of theoretical physics. In 1905, he published several of his important scientific works. One of them deals with the ground--breaking special theories of Relativity. Another work is related to the formula “E = mc2”. This formula was later used to invent nuclear bomb, which marked the biggest regret in his life time.

In 1921 Albert received Nobel Prize in Physics “for his services to theoretical physics, and especially for his discovery of the law of the photo-electric effect”.

Albert Einstein died of internal bleeding on April 17, 1955 in the age of 76, marking the press headlines around the world.
